According to authorities, a fatal accident occurred early on Monday morning when a driver crashed into a pole on the Hutchinson River Parkway. News reports indicate that one person tragically lost their life in the incident. The cause of the crash is currently being investigated by law enforcement officials.
The New York Police Department has reported that a collision occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. The driver, Walden Spence, aged 49, was travelling towards the southbound direction on the parkway when he lost control of his vehicle.
According to officials, Spence lost control of the vehicle and collided with both a pole and a tree in the vicinity of exits 4 and 3.
After a few hours of closure, the southbound lanes of Hutchinson River Parkway have now been reopened.
According to reports, he was declared deceased at the location of the incident.
