Police are attempting to identify the motorist who murdered a 42-year-old Birmingham woman in a hit-and-run

Authorities in Birmingham are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver and vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run.

On July 4, Tyesa Shawtae Smith, 42, was killed.

Birmingham police published a new image of the suspect vehicle on Friday.

Smith, a mother of eight, was crossing the street in the 1500 block of Third Avenue West when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle.

Smith was pronounced deceased on the scene at 11:57 p.m. after the crash occurred at 11:44 p.m.
