Mocobizscene- Prosecutors have accused two more teenagers in connection with the random killing sprees that occurred in Los Angeles County within a 5-mile radius.
Four individuals have been linked to the killings that occurred in Bell, Cudahy, Huntington Park, and unincorporated LA County in November 2023 and February 2024. Six individuals, including a 14-year-old child, were allegedly slain by the suspect’s alleged conduct, according to District Attorney George Gascón.
“My heart remains with all the victims, their loved ones, and the communities who have been affected by this senseless violence,” Gascón stated. “My office is fully committed to ensuring that justice is served to all individuals responsible for these heinous murders.”
Joseivan Mendoza, age 18, Gary Garcia, age 42, and Timberland Wayne McKneely, age 20, are the three accused.
Mendoza is accused of killing two people. Garcia is charged with two murders and two more counts of attempting a willful, intentional, and premeditated murder. In addition to two counts of attempted willful, deliberate, and premeditated murder, McKinley is charged with six counts of murder.
A maximum sentence of life without parole is awaiting the three men. The three should be held without bond, according to the prosecution.
The District Attorney also charged a seventeen-year-old with two counts of attempted intentional, deliberate, and premeditated murder in addition to four counts of murder. The adolescent will be held till the legal proceedings.
The said killings took place on Nov. 24, 2023, a few months apart, and throughout the course of the night of Feb. 11–12.
“I join with all Los Angeles County residents in expressing my gratitude for the hardworking members of law enforcement who continue to investigate these horrific murders,” stated Gascón.
