Fire breaks out in empty building in Southeast DC

At approximately 6:14 a.m., DC Fire and EMS received a call regarding a structure fire at an unoccupied building located on the 2300 block of Minnesota Ave. SE. Upon arrival, firefighters initially observed flames on the first floor of the two-story house. However, they soon discovered that the fire had also spread to the basement.

According to a spokesperson for DC Fire and EMS, about twelve firefighting units were summoned to the scene. The firefighters successfully brought the fire under control within a span of just 20 minutes.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and as the home was vacant, there were no displacements either.
