Mocobizscene- A man from Indiana valiantly defended his wife from a dog attack, but in doing so, tragically lost his life. Tuesday morning, January 30th, 21Alive reports that 85-year-old William Mundine was mauled. Several hours later, he succumbed to his injuries at a nearby medical facility.

Betty, the wife of William, informed the outlet that upon their return home that morning, they discovered three stray canines in their yard. She reportedly managed to escape into the house as the dogs reportedly rushed in their direction. William, according to his granddaughter Holly Watkins, attempted to “shoo” away two pit bulls and an additional dog. The precise breed of each of the three canines is unknown.

However, the animals reportedly directed their hostility towards William, biting him “all over his legs and arms.” According to his wife, the Indiana man “fought to the best of his ability.” Betty further stated that her deceased spouse “saved” her life and emerged as a “hero” during the ordeal.

“Be grateful to God for him.” “He reached the age of 85,” stated Betty Mundine. “He has received blessings.” He will be sorely missed.”

Reportedly, the assault occurred in the 2300 block of North Kenyon Street, in the vicinity of North Arlington Avenue and East 21st Street.
