Mocobizscene- Shortly about 9:30 p.m., Ojas Junnarkar, 28, was attacked while strolling by himself on the running track at Pershing Field. On Sunday, January 21, pals stated,
They reported that Junnarkar had injuries to his colon and kidneys. Subsequently, Jersey City police declared Santos Camacho’s arrest on charges of aggravated assault and unlawful weapons possession.
Remaining detained at the Hudson County Correctional Center in Kearny, Camacho is accused of knocking down Junnarkar, beating him, and threatening to murder him. The victim thought Camacho was attacking him with a brass-knuckle knife.
Junnarkar returned to his flat covered in blood, and acquaintances stated he was driven to Christ Hospital in a private vehicle. Later on, Jersey City Medical Center received him.
Although his condition was improving, Nithin Narsipur, who set up a GoFundMe page for Junnarkar, stated that “his physical pain and mental trauma is unimaginable.” “He may need multiple weeks of rehab and the road to recovery will be a long one.”
The attack’s official motivation is still a mystery. Friends noticed that Camacho took nothing from Junnarkar. They were informed by Junnarkar, who supposedly immigrated to the US five years ago from India to work in IT, that Camacho had passed him while driving in the opposite direction before abruptly turning around and hitting him in the lower back.
According to Jersey City spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione, police retrieved a knife from the scene. An inquiry was still underway.
