Mocobizscene- In Long Beach, armed thieves rushed into a family’s taco truck and assaulted an employee, causing considerable distress.
The masked robbers were captured on surveillance footage entering the Los Bros Tacos truck while Manuel Antonio was in the kitchen on December 16.
“While chopping the produce, they entered the truck. I was not expecting them; it was only when they drew the gun that I realized what they were doing,” Antonio recollected via a Spanish translator.
Two individuals can be seen entering the room and encircling Antonio while brandishing firearms in his direction.
While Antonio retracts his hand to request cash from the vehicle owner via the register, an additional thief stealthily removes Antonio’s phone from his back pocket.
The individual sucker-punches Antonio, causing him to collapse to the ground. From the register, the suspects vanished with an undetermined amount of cash.”I was indeed terrified,” Antonio admitted. “I felt dread as soon as they boarded the truck.” I was terrified due to the firearm that they possessed. Fear has consumed me ever since that day.
In Long Beach, at the intersection of Junipero Avenue and 7th Street, is the Los Bros Taco truck. Although the family-owned vehicle has been in operation for approximately five years, service to the Long Beach location only began two months ago.
The proprietor of the truck, Augustine Flores, stated that while the area previously seemed secure, the terrifying incident has rendered it uncertain. Having boarded the vehicle, his spouse and nine-year-old son observed the armed robbery. Just outside, his other son, Yostin Flores, was standing.
Yostin recalled, “We didn’t want to force them to pull the trigger or something.” “A misfired bullet might have struck my father, brother, or a colleague.”
Augustine, still trembling from the trauma, stated that he was compelled to persevere and continue his labors. He is relieved that no one was killed or gravely injured.
Augustine stated, “We must continue working because this is the busiest time of year, with Christmas approaching and rent to be paid.” “Without continuing to labor, it will be impossible to make ends meet. Our expenses include petrol, rent, and insurance. For this, we require a substantial amount of funds. No one will assist us, so we must continue our journey.”
A GoFundMe campaign is available at this location to assist in the recovery of the stolen cash, Antonio’s mobile phone, and medical expenses.
As of yet, the assailants are evading capture on surveillance footage, which the police are currently examining.
