Vermont Square, Los Angeles — Early on Sunday morning, a car hit a pedestrian, dragged the victim—who was critically hurt—down the street, and drove off.
In the Vermont Square district of South Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a “person down” complaint shortly after two in the morning on Western Avenue, just north of Vernon Avenue.
The patient was located by the LAFD, who then took them to a nearby hospital. The patient was struck by a car, taken down the street, and declared dead at the hospital, according to information later provided to the Los Angeles Police Department by the LAFD.
Where the patient was discovered by the LAFD was designated as a crime scene. As of right now, no description of the suspect car exists. The South Traffic Division of the LAPD is in charge of the inquiry.
