WASHINGTON—A number of armed robberies were reported in the District overnight, and according to D.C. police, a youngster as young as 13 may have been the culprit in one of them.
Around 3:20 a.m. on Thursday, police were called to the northwest 500 block of Q Street to look into a robbery report. The suspect, who is said to be a boy of 13 or 14 years old, had a handgun, according to the investigators. He had a high-top fade hairstyle and was dressed in a jacket, according to the police.
Police were summoned to the 3200 block of P Street for another armed robbery investigation just before 2:30 in the morning. The last sighting of two suspects in an all-black outfit was from a Honda Pilot driving away from the scene. Police were at the 3300 block of 16th Street to look into a report of another armed robbery just before midnight.
Detectives were summoned to the 500 block of Kenyon Street on Wednesday night at 11:30 p.m. to look into an allegation of a robbery by two suspects who were carrying guns similar to AK-47s. The two, according to the police, made off in a burgundy Jeep Cherokee with an unidentified tag.
There were no reported injuries. All of the investigations are still underway.
