The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department is currently investigating the most recent homicide that occurred overnight in the city.
At around 3:30 a.m., officers were called to the 900 block of Greeley Avenue in response to a report of shots being fired.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police were informed that the victim had already been taken to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle.
Tragically, the adult male eventually succumbed to his injuries.
The police are currently conducting an investigation and they are urging anyone with any information to come forward and contact them.
So far this year, the city has experienced its 22nd homicide, which is a decline from the 35 homicides recorded at this same time last year.
