Four individuals from New York are currently facing charges of felony aggravated animal cruelty after a dog was allegedly left to starve to death in their residence, as reported by 13WHAM. These four individuals have been charged in accordance with the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act (PACT).
Deputies and Humane Society investigators arrived at the scene on November 24th, where they found a lifeless Dogo Argentino on the property. The deceased dog, named Covid, a three-year-old male, was discovered lying under a blanket.
Law enforcement officials have also confiscated five additional dogs from the residence. Currently, these dogs are being evaluated by a local veterinarian.

According to the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Wisconsin, animals that are neglected and left to starve can suffer from severe organ failure, putting their lives at risk. To address this issue, the Humane Society emphasizes the importance of reporting any suspicions or instances of animal cruelty to the local animal control agency. In urgent situations, individuals can also call 911 or reach out to the Humane Society’s rescue team via their website.
