DC Park Police Gunshot Exchange Victim Identified

As reported by DC News Now, Washington Wednesday, November 22nd, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) disclosed the identity of the deceased individual who was involved in a gunfight with a United States Park Police officer.

The officer and the suspect, 30-year-old Turell Delonte Campbell, reportedly exchanged gunfire in the 1100 block of M St. NW at approximately 2:30 p.m., according to the MPD.

Thursday night, the officer remained hospitalized despite having recovered from multiple gunfire wounds. At the infirmary, Campbell, a native of Northeast, D.C., passed away.Officers reported recovering Campbell’s firearm at the location where the gunfire occurred.

The investigation into this incident is being carried out by the Force Investigation Team of the Internal Affairs Division of the MPD, which is responsible for all shootings involving officers in Washington, D.C.
