Two women were taken into custody on Monday after allegedly stealing sunglasses valued at over $1,000 from a Sunglass Hut located on Long Island, according to law enforcement officials. Lakeisha Mason, aged 33, and Kendra Patrick, aged 44, have been apprehended by authorities for the theft of sunglasses worth $1,025 from the Tanger Outlet store in Riverhead.
The store on West Main Street promptly reported the incident to the police. According to reports, the suspects made a hasty escape on foot without making any payment for the items. After conducting a thorough investigation, the detectives successfully identified and apprehended the suspects.
Mason and Patrick were taken to the Riverhead Police Department and are being charged with grand larceny. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Mason had active fraud charges against her in New Jersey. As a result, she now faces an additional charge of being a fugitive from justice.
Patrick received an appearance ticket for a future court date upon his release.
