Councilman from Mississippi arrested in Alabama for alcohol and drug-related offenses

MBS – On Friday evening, a city councilman from Mississippi was apprehended in Alabama.

Columbus City Councilman Pierre Beard, 35, was apprehended by the Gordo Police Department, as reported by WTVA in Tupelo.

Beard faces charges for driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana in the second degree, possession of drug paraphernalia in the first offense, and illegal possession of alcohol.

On Friday, December 1st, at 8:50 pm, Beard was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Pickens County, Alabama jail. The authorities have set his bond at $2,350.

Beard serves as the representative for Ward 4 in the city of Columbus.
