Volunteer searching for missing 19-year-old discovers body near deserted apartments

A young man who was reported missing last week was found with a fatal gunshot wound in southwest Houston on Sunday afternoon. The body was discovered by authorities. Sugar Land Police reported on Thursday that Trevion Butler had gone missing.

Authorities discovered his remains four days later in the vicinity of an abandoned apartment building located in the 2700 block of Grand Fountains Drive, near Buffalo Speedway. The location wasn’t pinpointed by the police.

According to Albert Flores, he took it upon himself to conduct some investigation work once Butler disappeared. According to Flores, he stumbled upon the body when Butler’s mother guided him to the spot. She had shown him a video of her son in that vicinity.

Flores shared that he noticed something intriguing while monitoring the area with a drone. He decided to investigate further and discovered the whereabouts of Trevion. “I walked down there and came across the location of Trevion,” Flores recounted.

At that moment, Flores discovered the body of the young man. Family members and KPRC 2 cameras were present at the scene, seeking answers about the untimely death of their loved one.

The Houston Police Department detectives are currently leading the investigation, and KPRC 2 will provide further updates as they become available to us.
