Mocobizscene- Following her departure from the scene of a pedestrian incident that resulted in death, a woman turned herself in to Long Beach police on Wednesday.
Around 5:25 a.m., police were called to the Pacific Coast Highway and Ohio Avenue intersection in response to a report of a pedestrian falling on the road.
Officers discovered a male with severe upper body injuries; paramedics declared him dead at the site. His identity won’t be revealed until his next of kin has been informed. Investigators have discovered that he was struck from behind by a car that fled the scene while he was walking in the eastbound lanes of PCH.
The 55-year-old Long Beach lady who was driving the car eventually brought herself into the Signal Hill Police Department. After being taken into custody and charged with one count of felony hit-and-run, she was later released from Long Beach City Jail.
According to the police, she has been assisting with the investigation, and the crash is not thought to have been caused by speed, distracted driving, or intoxicated driving.
