Violent Brawl Erupts at New York State Mall

Mocobizscene-Christmas week has arrived, and it has proven to be anything but a relaxing time for the local police. Troublesome teenagers have been causing disturbances at the local shopping centers, leading to chaotic situations. On Tuesday, a massive fight erupted at the Walden Galleria in Western New York, which resulted in the arrival of numerous police cars to the scene.

The weather this year is much more manageable compared to last year’s severe blizzard. Last year, people were confined to their homes, and businesses remained closed for several days until the roads and highways were cleared. However, this year, it appears that young people are enjoying the outdoors and gathering in large groups.

The Cheektowaga Police had a busy day following Christmas. Multiple reports indicate that they arrested at least one person as “crowds” of teenagers were being escorted out of the mall on Walden Avenue.

According to a report by Channel 2 in Buffalo,

2 On Your Side spoke to Cheektowaga Police Department Chief Brian Coons said police responded to the scene with NY State Police and the NFTA Police Tuesday.

There is a noticeable demand for a designated space, event, or age-appropriate activity for teenagers in Western New York, despite the fact that there are few troublemakers. The period between Christmas and New Year’s Day often leaves many teenagers with idle time, and it would be beneficial for community leaders to devise a plan to engage them in meaningful and productive activities during this period.

Teen violence appears to be increasing in frequency in the Buffalo and Western New York area. Just a week ago, a large fight in the Downtown area resulted in one person being injured.
