TSA reports finding meth in seafood stew at the New Orleans airport

A pound of methamphetamine was discovered in a seafood boil container at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

TSA officials reported that officers discovered the meth packaged in a gallon bag sealed in painters’ tape inside a jar of seafood seasoning.They reported that the container’s factory-sealed paper appeared to have been reapplied to the jar.

TSA posted on Instagram, “It’s never a good idea to stow a pound of meth anywhere, let alone in your flavorful barbecue rub.”

TSA officials stated that their agents do not seek for illegal drugs, but if they are discovered, they must notify law enforcement.

They reported that the passenger was detained and faces federal charges.
