Phoenix – A trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety recently made a significant drug bust, worth a million dollars, during a routine traffic stop in the vicinity of Fort McDowell. This news was shared by officials on Thursday, who lauded the trooper for his efforts.
A couple of weeks ago, a trooper made a traffic stop on State Route 87 at milepost 197 and found suitcases containing almost 110 pounds of methamphetamine and over 80 pounds of fentanyl.
According to DPS, the meth is estimated to be worth approximately $119,000, while the fentanyl has a value of $1.2 million.
A man named Jorge Baldovinos-Jimenez, who is 25 years old, has been taken into custody and charged with drug possession and transportation. He has been placed in Maricopa County Jail following his arrest.
According to investigators, the drugs were intended to be transported from Phoenix to Denver.
