Trump campaign donation page experiences technical issues following guilty verdict

Former President Trump’s fundraising page experienced a crash shortly after he was convicted on 34 felony counts by a New York jury. The campaign attributed this issue to a surge in donations.

“The American people are not fooled by Joe Biden’s rigged show trial,” declared Trump’s campaign on the social platform X. “The overwhelming response from Americans who were moved by President Trump’s campaign caused the WinRed pages to experience technical difficulties. We are currently working to restore the website as soon as possible.”

Visitors to Trump’s campaign website were redirected to WinRed, the official GOP fundraising site. However, when trying to donate to the former president, they were informed that the page was undergoing maintenance. In response to these technical difficulties, the campaign briefly redirected to a different donation processor.

Chris LaCivita, the co-manager of the Trump campaign, encouraged supporters to simply “log back on and give it another try” in the event that they encountered an error message.

Turning his legal problems into campaign fundraising pitches has become a habit for the former president. Last year, he utilized his mug shot after his Georgia indictment to attract millions of dollars in campaign cash. It is anticipated that his campaign will now seek to capitalize on the public’s outrage over Thursday’s verdict.

Former President Trump has become the first ex-president to be convicted of a felony after being found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records.

After deliberating for around 11 hours, the 12-person jury in the hush money trial reached their verdict late Thursday afternoon.

Donald Trump has consistently denied the alleged affair and has entered a plea of not guilty. Furthermore, he plans to appeal the verdict.
