Robert De Niro is an incredibly talented actor who deserves to be recognized as one of the greats. If we were to create a Mount Rushmore of talent, he would undoubtedly be one of the faces carved into it. While we typically associate Mount Rushmore with historical figures like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt, De Niro’s contributions to the world of acting are just as significant. In fact, he has even been awarded two Oscars for his outstanding performances.
Last week, Bob delivered a speech on curbside. The speech was pre-written and heavily focused on criticizing Donald Trump while praising Joe Biden. Interestingly, the speech conveniently omitted any mention of the legal challenges faced by Joe’s son, which have raised concerns about potential misconduct.
De Niro passionately expressed his belief that Donald is dishonest as cameras and microphones captured his every word.
During that period, I had the opportunity to discuss the annual Tribeca Film Festival with Bob, which has been running since 2002 and is set to begin this Wednesday.
He appeared alongside Jane Rosenthal, his equally respected co-founder, who never took off her dark glasses and had slightly unkempt hair.
In regards to the festival’s significant economic impact on NYC, De Niro expresses his surprise, saying, “We never anticipated that this idea would become such a massive draw. We initially organized it to revitalize downtown after the tragic events of 9/11. We had no idea what to expect. It was simply an initial thought, a plan to bring life back to downtown once again after the challenges posed by COVID.”
Broadcasters association revokes award for Robert De Niro due to his vehemently anti-Trump remarks during a press conference in New York City.
“I have a deep passion for movies, so much so that I used to edit them in parking lots back in the day.”
I have a strong affinity for popcorn, especially when I indulge in it while watching movies. It was during one such movie marathon that we organized our very first festival. The response was overwhelming, with a staggering 13,000 films pouring in from 50 different countries. The submissions ranged from shorts and TV shows to full-length features. The sheer volume compelled us to meticulously narrow down the selection.
“Occasionally, even the most promising endeavors fail to deliver. I don’t possess an exact formula for determining the perfect timing. When I attend an event’s opening, I give it a brief five-minute assessment. Within that short span, I can usually discern whether it possesses greatness. If it falls short, I have no qualms about leaving.”
