A 21-year-old man lost his life while attempting a daring skiing stunt in Colorado.
The accident occurred on Highway 40, located just west of Berthoud Pass Summit, a mountain pass in the central part of the state. According to a post by the Grand County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place around 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to a bystander, they attempted to perform CPR on the man and noted that he was unconscious and not breathing.
Emergency responders discovered that the 21-year-old was already deceased when they commenced their assessment at the scene. Additionally, personnel from the Coroner’s Office arrived at the location.
Young skier was trying to jump the highway
According to the sheriff’s office, the victim was attempting to clear the width of Highway 40 moments before his tragic demise.
The post states that the victim, despite wearing a helmet and other protective gear, unfortunately lacked the necessary speed and distance and ended up landing on the highway pavement.

The man’s name has not been released by the Grand County Coroner’s Office.
