In her conversation with residents Sherri Guerrero and Randy Davis, they shared their harrowing experiences of survival. Even Mayor Ken Zimmerman managed to survive the ordeal, as Governor Kim Reynolds explains.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has declared a disaster emergency proclamation for the small town of Minden, which has a population of just under 600 residents. According to Reynolds, approximately 180 homes have been damaged in the area, with 40% of them being completely destroyed.
A fortunate individual shared with FOX Weather’s Brandy Campbell that his two-story house was lifted approximately 20 feet off its foundation by the powerful tornado. However, he considers himself lucky since he was not present at home when the destructive twister hit.
“It’s pretty wild, to be honest. I’m doing my best to stay positive about it, you know? It’s just one of those things where you can only control so much. It definitely wasn’t where I had left it,” homeowner Randy Davis remarked, trying to maintain a lighthearted attitude. “But I’ve been fortunate enough to receive a tremendous amount of support. Many of my friends have stepped up to lend a hand.”
