Bernell James, age 14, was identified as one of three adolescents who were fatally shot incidents that occurred in New Orleans this week. James was a Kipp Morial School eighth-grader.
A further adolescent was fatally shot in Metairie; however, their age and identity remain unknown. Additionally, 17-year-old Layla Scott was shot and murdered in New Orleans. The founder of Sheroes, a local nonprofit organization, conveyed her profound concern over the persistent violence and emphasized the challenges that bereaved families encounter throughout the holiday season.
