Teenager Faces Charges for String of Armed Carjackings in Washington, D.C.

Mocobizscene- Dallas McKinney, a 19-year-old, is currently facing grave charges after being arraigned on a grand jury indictment for a series of armed carjackings in Southeast DC. The charges were announced by U.S. Attorney Matthew M. Graves and Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith, and they are a result of incidents that took place within a 35-minute timeframe.

McKinney has been indicted on multiple charges, including armed carjacking, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, assault with a dangerous weapon, unauthorized use of a vehicle during a crime of violence, and carrying a pistol without a license. The indictment consists of 11 counts in total. In response, Judge Jason Park has ordered McKinney to be held without bond while he awaits trial.

In the afternoon of that day, McKinney was arrested on Congress Street SE in the 1300 block, near where the stolen vehicles were found. When he was apprehended, he had a tan Glock 19X 9mm pistol in his possession. The pistol was loaded with an extended magazine and had been modified with an illegal “giggle switch” to enable automatic fire.
