Officers discovered a staff member at the KIPP Academy, a charter school in Lynn that caters to students in grades 9-12, with several stab wounds around 10 a.m., as reported by WFXT. The injured individual was promptly transported to a hospital for treatment, with the injuries believed to be non-life-threatening, according to the news station.
According to WFXT, Larnel Jean Eustache was apprehended by the police following a short pursuit. He is now facing charges that include assault with intent to murder and assault with a dangerous weapon.
The circumstances leading up to the stabbing are currently unknown. According to school officials, as soon as they were informed of the incident, they promptly contacted the authorities and implemented a lockdown on the campus (WFXT reported).
Principal Shauna-Kaye Clarke emphasized that the safety of their students and staff is their utmost concern. She stated, “Our primary focus right now is to provide support to our community. We are actively arranging counseling and additional support services for our students, faculty, and staff. We will also be sharing information on how to access these resources and ensuring their availability in the coming days.”
According to the principal, there is currently no known threat remaining from the incident.
