Police chase in L.A.: Suspects abandon vehicle and flee on foot

The Los Angeles Police Department reported a high-speed pursuit in Los Angeles County involving at least two suspects. The suspects were initially wanted for an assault with a deadly weapon.

The suspects were driving at high speeds on both freeways and surface streets during the pursuit. Eventually, they pulled over in a neighborhood near West Louise Street and Pacific Avenue in Long Beach.

After the vehicle came to a stop, the suspects fled into the backyard of a nearby residence while officers surrounded the cul-de-sac. At least one suspect was taken into custody, while another remained in a standoff with the police late on Friday evening.
