Suspect arrested in connection with Northeast DC homicide in May

On Wednesday, the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reported an arrest for a homicide that occurred on May 1 in Northeast, D.C.

At around 12:30 p.m., authorities received a report of gunfire in the 2000 block of M St., N.E. Law enforcement officers quickly responded to the scene and discovered a man who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead on-site.

John Coleman, a 34-year-old resident of Northeast, D.C., has been identified. George Sutton, a 44-year-old resident of Northeast, D.C., was arrested and charged with first-degree murder while armed for the death of Coleman over six months later on Nov. 8.
