Suspect Arrested for Interrupting NYC Subway Robbery with Gunfire

A suspect attempted to rob a woman on a Manhattan subway platform when an additional passenger discharged two shots in his path.

Matthew Roesch, the identified suspect, was a “swiper” who solicited gratuities by swiping individuals through MetroCard turnstiles. The incident transpired near Times Square at the 49th Street N, R, W metro station.

The suspect was accused with attempted robbery subsequent to his apprehension.  Commuter advocates voiced their disapproval of the city’s hazardous environment and emphasized the urgent requirement for enhanced security protocols.
