Starting Monday, Indiana allows the sale of alcohol for takeout purposes

Starting from July 1st, Indiana will allow the sale of alcohol for takeout.

Asher Bookspan, a reporter for WSBT 22, wrote the following paragraph.

Starting today, Indiana residents can purchase alcohol to-go. However, it is important to note that the drinks cannot be consumed while driving and must be in a designated container. The state has implemented these regulations to ensure the safety of drivers on the road. So, if you plan on taking your drink on the go, be sure to follow these guidelines.

Starting July 1st, customers in many states will be delighted to know that restaurants can now sell “to-go” alcohol, a trend that gained popularity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the lockdowns, Hacienda Mexican Restaurants has been eagerly anticipating a new law that would allow them to offer carryout alcohol. Despite attempting to do so in the past, they were unable to due to the lack of legal framework.

They are now expressing their readiness and confidence that it will attract a larger customer base.

Cody Jackson, the senior marketing director at Hacienda Mexican Restaurants expressed his enthusiasm about the potential success of their carry out business. He believes that this venture would bring them a significant boost and is excited to see the outcome. While acknowledging that they do not have a clear idea of the results, he is confident in their signature product’s ability to attract customers, and hopes that it will be a hit with the public.

Jackson is thrilled about the new law; however, ensuring the safe sale of alcohol remains his utmost concern.

The Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission has been collaborating with them to ensure that they comply with all regulations.

To ensure safe driving, it is essential to prohibit the consumption of drinks while driving. This can be achieved by using a special container to hold the alcohol.

According to Jackson, the cap used for the margarita container is tamper-evident. Once the margaritas have been poured, the cap is sealed and placed inside a tamper-evident bag. This double-sealing method ensures that the container remains sealed until the customer takes it out of the store. “We take extra precautions to ensure the safety of our customers,” Jackson emphasized.

In his efforts to prioritize the safety of customers, he is collaborating closely with restaurant staff to ensure that all safety protocols are being followed diligently. Additionally, he is taking steps to ensure responsible sale of alcohol to customers.

Jackson emphasized that if a person displays any signs of being intoxicated, they should not be sold any more drinks, including alcohol to go.

According to Jackson, if someone wants to get carryout alcohol, they have to physically go to the restaurant.
