Mocobizscene-A second arrest has been made by the Homicide Branch of the Metropolitan Police Department in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on U Street, Northwest, in October 2023. Diamonte Lewis, a 24-year-old from Southeast, Washington, was the victim.
On December 5, 2023, a 16-year-old boy from Alexandria, Virginia was taken into custody on a charge of second-degree murder while armed. A DC Superior Court arrest warrant served as the basis for this charge.
Based on an additional DC Superior Court arrest warrant, the MPD Fugitive Unit detained 20-year-old Na’eem Butler from Herndon, VA, on February 6, 2024. The US Marshals Service extradited Butler from State College, Pennsylvania. He is charged with the identical offense as the male 16-year-old.
The case, CCN: 23173376, is still being looked into by the Homicide Branch of the Metropolitan Police Department.
