School Bus Driver in New York Allegedly Abducted and Sexually Assaulted Student

The bus driver from New York who has been accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a female student on his route entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment on Thursday. Giovanny Campos, aged 50, has pleaded not guilty to charges of criminal sex acts and reckless endangerment. This comes as he is connected to a case involving a teenage girl, as reported by News 12 Long Island.

According to the news outlet, Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly stated that the defendant, who is a school bus driver, is accused of sexually abusing a teenage student. The alleged abuse took place both on the bus and at the defendant’s apartment in Queens. It is particularly concerning as school bus drivers are entrusted with the responsibility of transporting and safeguarding children.

Campos is accused of committing the sexual assaults in May while working as a bus driver for Cheese Bus. Between January and July, he transported the victim.

According to the police, Campos was arrested in September. If he is found guilty, he could potentially face a maximum sentence of 25 years in prison. Campos is scheduled to appear in court on December 12th.
