Prosecutor: A 38-year-old man from Newark was killed in a homicide

According to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé and Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens, II, the assault in the 200 block of Cathedral Court was reported to the police just after 11 p.m. Daniel Hass was found by officers outside the scene injured, according to Stephens and Fragé. After being taken to University Hospital, Hass was declared deceased at 11:53 p.m., according to Stephens and Fragé.

As per Stephens and Fragé, an autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause and mode of his death. According to Stephens and Fragé, the investigation is active and ongoing, and no one has been arrested.
