Mocobizscene- Knox, a loyal Belgian Malinois, bid his final farewell with a wag of his tail at a veterinary hospital in Hyattsville on Monday, February 12. The local police department, where he had served with pride for five years, shared the news of his passing.
He found solace in his “police family” – his partner, Cpl. Hodges, his first handler, David Chanthavong, and City Administrator, Tracey Douglas.
Sgt. Anthony “Tony” Knox, a dedicated United States Army veteran and father of four, fought cancer bravely for two years before his passing on July 17, 2018. As a tribute to his unwavering spirit, Knox was named after him.
The Hyattsville Police Department acknowledges that Tony’s unwavering spirit and commitment to serving others continue to thrive within Knox.
“While we mourn the loss of our comrades here on earth, we know we were blessed and better for having them as a part of the HPD family albeit the time way too short.”
