Mocobizscene-The Los Angeles police are seeking the assistance of the public in identifying a motorcyclist who was involved in a deadly hit-and-run accident in the Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw area last year.
On May 4, around 11:45 p.m., a pedestrian was hit by the suspect while they were riding southbound on Western Avenue at 79th Street.
According to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect was operating a newer model Honda Gold Wing motorcycle. Raymond Peters, the victim, was hit by the suspect’s motorcycle as he was crossing Western Avenue after parking his vehicle.
The suspect fled the scene, leaving Peters, who unfortunately succumbed to his injuries, on the side of the road. According to the police department, they have acquired video footage that they believe depicts the suspect making a stop at a nearby gas station to inspect his motorcycle for any potential damage.
The rider donned a striking red helmet and a sleek black vest, which law enforcement quickly recognized as the distinctive attire of a motorcycle club.
According to LAPD Det. Ryan Moreno, the individual in question is a member of the Chosen Few 1% motorcycle club. The detective expresses a desire for the suspect to come forward voluntarily, as it would provide an opportunity to engage in dialogue and obtain their perspective on the matter.
There is a $50,000 reward up for grabs for anyone who has information that can lead to an arrest and conviction in the case.
