Mocobizscene- A heartbreaking scene unfolded in the Bronx as a small memorial of candles flickered outside the building where a tragic incident took place. Twin 5-year-olds, a boy, and a girl, lost their lives, leaving the community in shock. The mother discovered her children unresponsive in their apartment on Monday morning. Despite her desperate attempt to administer CPR, it was too late to save them.
A neighbor expressed sadness over the situation, stating, “I feel bad. They were nice kids. The mother was nice.”
Investigators have determined that carbon monoxide poisoning is not the cause of death for the twins. As of Tuesday evening, there is no evidence of criminality or physical abuse, and no drug paraphernalia has been found, according to the police. Neighbours have described the parents of the twins as loving and attentive.
The father, who works in the healthcare industry, was away when the incident occurred. He spent several hours at the nearby precinct, fully cooperating with the police. Meanwhile, the mother, overwhelmed with emotional distress, was transported from the East 175th Street building to a local hospital.
Neighbor Rob Brown reminisces about the sight of the children, full of joy, engaged in outdoor activities. He vividly recalls the mother diligently taking them to school and personally picking them up, emphasizing her commitment to their well-being.
According to neighbor Nanna Manaso, when the girl sees me, she warmly embraces me, almost like a grandfather. Additionally, the mother is incredibly kind.
“Our main concern is the safety and welfare of all children in New York City,” a representative for the agency informed PIX11 News. “Upon receiving news of this heartbreaking incident, ACS immediately collaborated with law enforcement to initiate an investigation.”
A neighbor expressed their hope that authorities would uncover the truth about what actually occurred.
