Mocobizscene- The Shalla restaurant located in the 8000 block of Sligo Avenue was the scene of a commercial armed robbery on Thursday, December 21, 2023, which is being investigated by detectives from the Major Crimes Division of the Montgomery County Department of Police.
Officers from the 3rd District arrived at the scene at about 12:20 a.m. in response to a report of a commercial armed robbery.
Detectives’ investigation has shown that three men—two armed with guns and the other with a red bag—who were all wearing masks entered the eatery. Inside the café, the armed men demanded personal belongings from the victims. The victims complied with the requests made by the perpetrators. After removing the stolen goods from the restaurant, the three suspects made their way to Washington, D.C.
The first suspect is described as a heavy-set man holding a shotgun and dressed in black BMW sweatpants and hooded sweatshirt. The second suspect is characterized as a man carrying a long rifle and dressed all in black, including a black jacket.
A person wearing a black jacket, white sweatshirt, black leggings, and a white facemask is characterized as the third suspect.
