Followers of a social media spirituality influencer in Alabama have been left shocked and disturbed after their leader was accused of committing two murders. The accused individual, who proclaimed themselves as a god, has been taken into custody by authorities. This shocking turn of events has raised concerns about the influence and power that social media influencers can have over their followers.

Mikayla Thompson, a 25-year-old from St. Louis, along with Gerrielle German, 27, from Lake Horn, Mississippi, and Ma’Kayla Wickerson, 36, from St. Louis, were seen shopping at a grocery store before they vanished on August 13, 2023. This information was provided by the Berkeley Police Department.

According to police, the four adults who are currently missing share a common trait – they are all known followers of Rashad Jamal White. White, who identifies himself as a “prophet” and rapper, is the founder of The University of Cosmic Intelligence, an online religious group that boasts a significant following across the United States. Fox News Digital has made attempts to contact The University of Cosmic Intelligence for further information.

In August 2023, a Barrow County judge handed down an 18-year prison sentence to Jamal following his conviction on charges of child molestation and cruelty to children, as stated in court documents. On August 25 of the previous year, Jamal submitted a motion for a new trial, arguing that the prosecution had failed to sufficiently establish his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

With a staggering following of almost 190,000 on TikTok, over 10,000 on X, and 90,000 on Instagram, he utilizes these platforms to share his unique beliefs. According to him, individuals are merely “avatars,” birds serve as surveillance drones controlled by the government, Arizona acts as a passage to Africa, and astonishingly, the Mississippi River is none other than the renowned Nile River.

Rashad Jamal boasts an impressive following on various social media platforms. With nearly 190,000 followers on TikTok, over 10,000 followers on X, and a whopping 90,000 followers on Instagram, he has built a significant online presence.

“I haven’t broken any laws except for speaking out against oppression,” Jamal expressed in a YouTube video shared recently. “My only ‘crime’ is empowering my people and raising my voice against this system, and I will never retreat from that stance.”

According to the university’s website, Jamal’s group aims to enlighten and inspire individuals of Black and Latino descent, whom he refers to as “carbonated beings.” He emphasizes the importance of connecting with the Earth and embracing their ancient roots, contrasting it with the negative impact of individuals he labels as “low-vibration” who contribute to a more toxic world.

“I consider myself a divine being, and I believe that all individuals from the Black and Latino communities share this divine essence. We were crafted in the likeness of our creator,” expressed Jamal in a video from May 2022. “As a result, I am a manifestation of the divine entity, both its creative force and its destructive power. Consequently, I bear complete accountability for all the circumstances I have encountered throughout my existence. In the spiritual realm, we refer to this introspective process as shadow work.”

Rashad Jamal, through his TikTok videos, shares his intriguing beliefs about the world. According to him, individuals are “avatars” and birds are government-controlled drones, monitoring the activities of ordinary citizens. He also asserts that Arizona serves as a gateway to Africa, and astonishingly, the Mississippi River is, in fact, the Nile River. These unconventional claims have garnered attention on social media.

The University of Cosmic Intelligence website features various products for sale, including crystals, crystal necklaces, and bracelets. These items are priced at unique amounts, such as $333.33, $222, or $119.99. The girlfriend of a Florida college student who was shot and killed in Alabama has described him as a hero.

According to a report by Motherboard in 2022, Pinkins and Hider were residing “off the grid” in the Talladega National Forest near the location of the crime. It was also revealed that they had potential connections to Jamal’s work through social media.

Mikayla Paulus, the girlfriend of Adam Simjee, recounted to FOX 35 Orlando that these photos of them were captured just an hour before they fell victim to a harrowing armed robbery.

After the article was published, numerous individuals who support Jamal contacted Fox News Digital to assert his innocence. They believe that he is not only innocent of the murder charges, but also of the molestation case filed against him in Jackson County.

Berkeley police have recently shed light on the connection between Jamal and The University of Cosmic Intelligence in relation to the mysterious disappearances of the six individuals. These individuals hailed from different states but had come together and resided in St. Louis for a short time before their sudden vanishing.

According to a statement released by the Berkeley police, they expressed their astonishment at the complete detachment exhibited by these cult members towards their friends and family. The police further revealed that these individuals are known to go to extreme lengths to disconnect from society and live with other members of their cult. Interestingly, their financial status does not seem to be a determining factor in their involvement with the cult.

According to the police, Jamal has received significant media coverage, and they urge the public to conduct an internet search using his name. Jamal’s followers commonly adopt aliases that pay homage to various gods and goddesses, and this is also true for the four missing adults.
