Mocobizscene- Detectives will be spending today conducting a thorough canvassing of the area and engaging with members of the community. Raul Pedroso, the interim police chief, assured that the department is fully equipping the detectives with all the necessary resources for this investigation. Additionally, he announced that patrols in the area have been bolstered.
He stated that ensuring the safety of our community is our top priority, and we are fully committed to it. The search for the sexual assault suspect is also a top priority.
The Alexandria Police Department (APD) is seeking assistance from residents in the neighborhood where the incident took place. They are specifically asking those who have security cameras that may have captured relevant footage and anyone who witnessed anything to come forward. There have been two late-night attacks on women in Alexandria this month. The first incident took place on Main Line Blvd. and the second incident, which occurred recently, has left the police searching for the suspect. Authorities have identified a suspect who is currently in custody in another jurisdiction, but the investigation is still ongoing.
The current investigation conducted by APD suggests that the two incidents are not connected.
