Philadelphia Police Reopen I-95 After 3 Men Shot On Roadway

Three individuals were wounded in a shooting that occurred on Wednesday morning on the northbound lanes of I-95 in Philadelphia. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. close to the Academy Road exit, located at mile marker 32.

According to the police report, the highway was closed for several hours following a shooting incident which resulted in the injury of three men who were travelling together in a single vehicle.

State police report that a young man, aged 25 and from Trenton, sustained critical injuries after being shot and transported to the hospital for treatment.

Police reported that two additional victims were involved in the incident, including a 25-year-old man from Morrisville, Pennsylvania and a 29-year-old man from Trenton. Fortunately, both individuals are now in stable condition. The victim from Morrisville sustained a graze wound, according to authorities.

Many travelers hit the road for the holiday, causing the closure of all northbound lanes of I-95 between Exit 26/Betsy Ross Bridge to New Jersey and Exit 32/Academy Road/Linden Ave for several hours.

Major delays were caused as traffic on the northbound side of the interstate was being forced off at Aramingo Avenue.

Rachshawn Daniels from Frankford expressed his concern regarding the safety issues faced by riders in the city. “It’s definitely a matter of concern for riders. Although it may not be easily resolved, the issue is quite alarming,” he said.

A recent shooting on a highway in the Philadelphia area has come to light. Back in April, a man’s actions resulted in the shutdown of a portion of the I-76.

Police report that on May 1, a vehicle traveling on I-95 north was involved in an incident. In June, the victim was grazed. A shooting took place on I-95 near Prospect Park. A few weeks ago, a portion of the road was blocked due to an investigation of a shooting incident. The state police are currently in search of another car that may have played a role in the incident. The authorities have yet to reveal any further information regarding the events that occurred leading up to the shooting.
