Passenger Died In A Santa Ana Two-Car Crash On Monday Afternoon

Mocobizscene- At 4:46 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2023, multiple complaints were received by the Santa Ana Police Department concerning a significant traffic collision that occurred at the intersection of 1st Street and Baker Street.

Officers of the SAPD arrived on the scene of the collision and identified an occupant in the sedan who was unresponsive. The collision had involved two vehicles, a sedan and a pickup truck. The Orange County Fire Authority was also dispatched to the location and confirmed the demise of the passenger.

The implicated sedan was in collision with the eastbound pickup truck on 1st Street while traveling south on Baker Street via the intersection of 1st Street, according to the preliminary investigation. Both drivers were involved in the collision and were subsequently transported to Orange County Global Medical Center. Among them, the operator of the pickup truck is in stable condition, while the operator of the sedan is in critical condition. The factors contributing to the collision remain under investigation, and the presence of narcotics or alcohol is currently unidentified.

This incident is being investigated by the Collision Investigations Unit (CIU) of the Santa Ana Police Department.
