Gas prices in Florida have been declining for the past three weeks, and drivers are now able to enjoy an average price of $3.25 per gallon, which is the lowest it has been since mid-February.
Last week’s prices have dropped by 5 cents, and compared to last month, they are down by 25 cents. Additionally, when compared to the same time last year, prices have fallen by 19 cents.
OPEC and its allies’ voluntary production cuts have led to expectations of tighter supply, resulting in a 4% increase, equivalent to nearly $3 per barrel surge in U.S. crude oil prices last week.
According to AAA – The Auto Club Group’s spokesperson, Mark Jenkins, the cost of summertime road trips has decreased due to the decline in crude oil and gasoline futures prices. Despite this, there was a slight recovery in oil prices last week, which may impede the continued decrease in gas prices.
Furthermore, the Energy Information Administration’s report on robust gasoline demand has resulted in an increase in prices.
Florida drivers have been enjoying the benefits of lower gas prices lately. However, the future is still uncertain. The direction of gas prices will depend on the balance between supply and demand in the global oil market.
