Upon retiring from military service, a couple moved back home with the expectation of living in their dream house. However, little did they know that there was a twist in store for them.
Their experience has been far from a dream during their stay.
News 19 was contacted by Raymond and Ciera Sanchez, who expressed their dissatisfaction with the management’s lack of assistance.
Raymond Sanchez expressed his frustration by saying, “What do I do in this situation? You’re not taking care of me, my family, and we served our country. I don’t know what else to do.”
Raymond and Ciera have both completed two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In September, they moved into their first home in Madison, eagerly anticipating the birth of their child after being discharged.
Their days have been far from blissful since their return. Weeks after their arrival, they were faced with flooding and sewer issues that have caused immense damage to their property. Despite their pleas, both the property manager and the homeowners have turned a blind eye to their requests for repairs.
Sanchez inquired about the problem and the measures being taken to address it. “What seems to be the matter? Why am I being kept out of the loop regarding the house updates?” she asked.
Pathlight Property Management received numerous maintenance requests from Sanchez as per the rental agreement, which stated that the management company was appointed by HPA Acquisitions or Home Partners of America based in Plano, Texas.
According to Sanchez, she made multiple attempts to contact the company, but they never responded to her inquiries. Despite reaching out repeatedly, she was left without a response.
In April, when the downstairs HVAC unit failed, they took matters into their own hands and bought an air conditioner to mount on the wall. They decided to fix things themselves and took action accordingly.
The financial burden of the repairs is weighing heavily on them, especially with three young children to support.
Sanchez expressed, “This has been a challenging time for both my family and me. I am at a loss for words.”
The Sanchez family has expressed their concern about the possibility of having to relocate from their current residence and move elsewhere.
After learning about these concerns, News 19 promptly contacted the property managers and homeowners for their perspective. They assured us that they would provide a response to address these matters.
