A car evading the police after a dispute with another person plowed into New Year’s Eve revelers and police officers in New York City overnight, causing injuries to at least nine people.
According to the New York City Fire Department, the incident took place near Madison Square Garden, specifically near West 34th Street and 9th Avenue.
The collision has been declared a mass casualty event by officials, and they have taken the suspect into custody. FBI and law enforcement agencies are preparing for potential threats during the New Year’s Eve celebration.

The officers made an attempt to intervene, but the suspect swiftly hopped into his black SUV and fled the scene, causing significant damage to multiple police vehicles in the process. Despite the chaos, the suspect managed to escape.
