MPD Seeking Information on Southeast Shooting That Killed Local Man

Mocobizscene-A shooting death in Southeast Washington, DC, is under investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch. At around 2:46 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2024, the occurrence took place. Seventh District police officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Southern Avenue in response to reports of gunfire.

Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound upon their arrival. David Coe, 51, of Southeast, Washington, was the victim, and he was pronounced dead at the site. An inquiry is underway into the shooting.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that results in the identification and apprehension of the offender or people. Anyone with knowledge is encouraged to come forward by the department.
