DC, MD teens charged with 2 killings, drive-by shooting

Mocobizscene- Three teens have been charged by the District’s U.S. Attorney and D.C. police in connection with two homicides and a drive-by gunshot that allegedly occurred within the last two years.

Ronald Henderson, 18, of Maryland, Derrico Johnson, 19, and Daveon Robinson, 17, both of D.C., were indicted on a 26-count federal indictment. The allegations against Henderson ranged from assault with the intent to kill to murder. Henderson and Robinson, according to a news release, were both accused as adults.

As stated in the indictments against Henderson, Johnson, and Robinson, they were allegedly affiliated with “a larger group known as the ‘Fox 5 Gang,'” which was responsible for inciting violence in Washington, D.C.

Prosecutors assert that these three individuals were implicated in “several homicides and non-fatal shootings” in the area while serving on the crew. These occurrences persisted until the spring of 2022. The initial fatal gunshot identified by authorities was the April 12, 2022 homicide of Clayton Marshall, 32 years old.

Authorities reported that Johnson, in a stolen vehicle, arrived in the 2200 block of Savannah Street in Southeast at approximately 12:20 p.m. and departed the vehicle momentarily. There, he allegedly fatally shot Marshall with multiple projectiles directed at Shipley Market. Marshall was not, according to officials, the intended target of the attack.

On May 26, roughly one month later, officers reported that Henderson and Johnson were in Savannah Terrace Circle at approximately 11:20 a.m. with another individual when gunfire was heard. Officials claim that 16-year-old Justin Johnson, also known as “23 Rackz,” updated his location on Instagram that morning prior to the alleged arrival of Derrico Johnson and Ronald Henderson, who commenced firing upon him.

The Department of Justice stated in a press release, “Derrico Johnson and Ronald Henderson fired multiple shots in the direction of Justin Johnson from a distance of 200 feet.” Johnson was standing mere feet away from an infant child riding a scooter when he was fatally shot.

The last violent gunshot occurred shortly after 4:45 p.m. on January 2, 2023. Henderson and Robinson were reportedly in the rear seat of a vehicle that was traveling in the direction of the Alabama Convenience Store at the time. According to the indictment, Henderson and Robinson allegedly drew a rifle and handgun, discharged ammunition into the store, and caused injuries to two individuals.

“Armed Special Police Officers in the vicinity observed the shooting and pursued the suspects to a residence in Henson Ridge, where they were apprehended: Henderson and Robinson,” the department stated.

Friday marked the arraignment of all three defendants in relation to these incidents and gun allegations dating back to March and April 2023. The District is holding all three defendants without bond pending their trial on August 18, 2025.
