SEAL BEACH, CA -Police in Seal Beach have identified a mother and her son as the victims of a tragic occurrence. They were found dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide. Friday saw the announcement from the Seal Beach Police Department in response to the earlier-in-the-week finding.
When the police were called to a home on the 600 block of Ocean Avenue for a welfare check on Wednesday morning, they discovered the event. After receiving upsetting phone calls from the son, who voiced frustration about caring for his elderly mother, a family relative had called the police. During the most recent call, the relative claimed to have heard a huge bang, and the boy then said his mother was “gone.”
Officers discovered two people suffering from gunshot wounds to the head as they lay on a bed. The son had a gun in his possession. The deceased have been identified as a 65-year-old male and an 84-year-old lady by the Seal Beach Police Department, who have not disclosed their identities out of respect for the family’s privacy.
