Kansas City, Missouri witnesses fatal high-speed collision and fire on Wednesday morning

Early Wednesday morning, a high-speed collision occurred on U.S. 71 Highway in Kansas City, Missouri resulting in the tragic death of a man. The crash was accompanied by a fiery explosion, adding to the severity of the incident.

According to authorities, a southbound silver Buick LeSabre was seen speeding on the highway near Meyer Boulevard at around 10:15 a.m. As the car veered off the road, it crashed into a tree after skidding across a grassy median just south of Meyer Boulevard.

According to the authorities, the vehicle was engulfed in flames and completely destroyed by the fire. Unfortunately, the driver’s identity has not been made public, but it is with great sadness to report that he passed away at the scene of the incident.

According to authorities, the collision resulted in the closure of all lanes of southbound U.S. 71 Highway for approximately three hours. In 2023, KCMO has recorded its 84th fatal crash. Last year at this time, KCMO had already witnessed 78 crashes resulting in fatalities.
