Man shot dead near Torrance identified

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has identified the 50-year-old man who was fatally shot near Torrance as of Wednesday.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident of shooting was reported on Tuesday at approximately 10:15 a.m. in the 23100 block of South Mariposa Avenue. The county medical examiner confirmed that Sam Chan passed away at the scene.
