Man arrested for Motorcycle Crash Involving Alcohol Charges

Mocobizscene- A collision in Michigan City has led to charges being filed against the drivers involved, as both were reportedly impaired. The incident resulted in serious injuries to a motorcyclist.

Daniel Pahl, a 38-year-old individual, is facing charges for Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury, along with other related counts. Jeffery Goff, on the other hand, is facing charges of Operating a Vehicle while Intoxicated. Authorities have reported that both men have previous OWI convictions and were driving on suspended licenses.

The crash occurred in August of 2022 at the intersection of Franklin and Arthur streets, near Ames Field. According to reports, Pahl was initiating a left turn onto Franklin Street when Goff’s oncoming motorcycle collided with the front driver’s side of his pick-up truck.

Pahl is facing charges of Child Neglect after being found with a blood alcohol level of .17 percent while he had his two children in the car with him. Court documents reveal that Goff’s blood alcohol level was recorded at .209 percent.

Pahl may receive a sentence ranging from 2 to 12 years for the severe count related to Goff’s injuries. As of his arrest on Thursday, he remains in custody at the La Porte County Jail, with a bond set at $20,000.
